Virtualbox Windows 10 Guest Video Driver

Post by Maddy1991 » Wed Feb 24, 2021 12:54 am

I recently installed Virtualbox on my Windows 10 guest machine, but I am having trouble finding the correct video driver for it. I have searched extensively on various websites and forums, but unfortunately, I haven't had any luck so far. The version of Virtualbox I am using is 6.1.12, and my host machine is running Windows 10 Pro. The video driver I am specifically looking for is one that supports 3D acceleration within the Virtualbox environment. If anyone could provide a reliable download link or guide me in the right direction to find this specific driver, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for your help!

Troubleshooting Questions and Answers:

1. Q: Why is the video playback in my Virtualbox Windows 10 guest VM choppy or lagging?
A: Choppy or lagging video playback in Virtualbox Windows 10 guest VM can be due to insufficient system resources allocated to the virtual machine. Ensure that you have allocated enough RAM and CPU resources to the VM. You can adjust these settings in the Virtualbox VM settings.

2. Q: I installed the Virtualbox Windows 10 guest video driver, but I'm still not getting any video output. What could be the problem?
A: If you are not getting any video output after installing the Virtualbox Windows 10 guest video driver, make sure that you have enabled 3D acceleration in the VM settings. Without 3D acceleration, the video driver may not function properly.

3. Q: After updating to the latest version of Virtualbox, my Windows 10 guest VM's video resolution is stuck at a low value. How can I fix this?
A: If the video resolution is stuck at a low value after updating Virtualbox, it might be due to outdated guest additions. Install the latest version of Virtualbox guest additions for your Windows 10 guest VM. This should provide compatibility with the updated Virtualbox version and allow you to adjust the video resolution.
