Synaptics Touchpad Driver Windows 10 Lenovo Ideapad

Post by Reggie » Sat Apr 10, 2021 11:17 am

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Lenovo Ideapad touchpad driver after upgrading to Windows 10. I've searched extensively on Lenovo's website and also tried other driver download sites, but I just can't seem to find the Synaptics Touchpad driver specifically for Windows 10. I've checked the support page for my Ideapad model, but they only provide drivers for Windows 7 and 8.1. Can anyone here please provide me with a direct download link to the Synaptics Touchpad driver for Windows 10 compatible with Lenovo Ideapad? I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you in advance!

Troubleshooting Questions and Answers:

1. Question: Why is the touchpad on my Lenovo Ideapad not responding?
Answer: There could be several reasons for this issue. Firstly, make sure that the touchpad is not disabled. You can enable it by pressing the Fn key and the corresponding function key (F1-F12) that has the touchpad icon. Secondly, ensure that the Synaptics Touchpad Driver is installed and up to date. You can check this in the Device Manager under the "Mice and other pointing devices" category. If the driver is missing or outdated, download and install the latest driver from the Lenovo support website. If the issue persists, try restarting your laptop or performing a system update.

2. Question: Why is the cursor on my Lenovo Ideapad's touchpad moving erratically?
Answer: If you are experiencing cursor movement issues, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take. Firstly, clean the touchpad surface gently with a microfiber cloth to remove any dirt or debris that might be causing erratic movement. Additionally, ensure that your fingers are dry and clean while using the touchpad, as moisture or oil on your fingers can affect its sensitivity. If the problem persists, try adjusting the touchpad settings in the Windows Control Panel. You can modify parameters such as sensitivity, palm rejection, and scrolling behavior. Lastly, ensure that you have the latest Synaptics Touchpad Driver installed. You can update it through the Device Manager or the Lenovo support website.

3. Question: How can I disable the touchpad on my Lenovo Ideapad while using an external mouse?
Answer: To disable the touchpad while using an external mouse, you can follow these steps. Firstly, press the Windows key + X to open the Power User menu, then select "Device Manager" from the list. In the Device Manager, expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" category. Right-click on the Synaptics Touchpad entry and choose "Disable device" from the context menu. This will temporarily disable the touchpad, allowing you to solely use the external mouse. To re-enable the touchpad, follow the same steps, but choose "Enable device" instead. Alternatively, you may find a touchpad disable/enable button or switch on your Lenovo Ideapad,
