Win 10 Display Driver Stopped Responding

Post by Prissy »

Hi there! I'm currently facing an issue with my Windows 10 display driver. Every now and then, it stops responding and I have to restart my system to get it working again. It's becoming quite frustrating and I'm hoping to find a solution. I've already tried searching on the manufacturer's website for an updated driver, but I couldn't find one. I've also checked Windows Update, but it seems like I already have the latest version installed. Could someone please provide me with a reliable link to download an updated display driver for my specific GPU? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Troubleshooting Questions and Answers:
1. Question: Why does the display driver on my Windows 10 device keep stopping?
Answer: There could be various reasons why the display driver on your Windows 10 device is stopping, such as outdated drivers, incompatible software, or hardware issues. To resolve this, try updating your display driver to the latest version, ensuring compatibility with other software and performing hardware checks.

2. Question: How can I update the display driver on my Windows 10 device?
Answer: To update the display driver on your Windows 10 device, follow these steps:
- Open the Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Device Manager" from the menu.
- Expand the "Display adapters" category and right-click on your display driver.
- Choose the option "Update driver" and select either "Search automatically for updated driver software" or "Browse my computer for driver software" depending on the availability of the update. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.

3. Question: What can I do if the display driver issue persists even after updating it?
Answer: If the display driver issue persists even after updating it, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Roll back the display driver to the previous version by following the same steps mentioned in the previous answer, but choosing the option "Roll back driver" instead of "Update driver."
- Disable any overclocking settings on your device as they can sometimes cause display driver issues.
- Run a system file checker scan by opening the Command Prompt as an administrator and typing "sfc /scannow" without the quotes, then press Enter. This scan will check for and attempt to fix any corrupted system files that may be causing the issue.

Remember to always create a system restore point before making any significant changes to your device's drivers or system settings.
