Fedora Show Nvidia Drivers Version

Post by Rusty1985 »

I recently installed Fedora on my computer and I am trying to find the latest Nvidia driver version compatible with my system. I've tried searching on the official Nvidia website and also on the Fedora documentation, but I couldn't find a direct download link. Can someone here provide me with a reliable source or a direct download link for the Nvidia driver compatible with Fedora? Thank you in advance for your help!

Graphics Card: Nvidia GPU

Troubleshooting Questions and Answers:

1. Question: How can I find out the Nvidia drivers version on Fedora?
Answer: You can open a terminal and type "nvidia-smi" command. It will display the current Nvidia drivers version on your Fedora system.

2. Question: My Fedora system is not recognizing the Nvidia GPU. What should I do?
Answer: First, ensure that you have installed the Nvidia drivers correctly. You can verify this by running the "sudo lsmod | grep nouveau" command in the terminal. If it shows any output, it means the open-source Nouveau drivers are still active. Disable Nouveau and install the Nvidia drivers using appropriate commands such as "sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia" or "sudo dnf install kmod-nvidia".

3. Question: After upgrading Fedora, my Nvidia drivers stopped working. What is the solution?
Answer: Upgrading Fedora may sometimes cause conflicts with Nvidia drivers. To resolve this issue, you can try reinstalling the drivers using the appropriate command, such as "sudo dnf reinstall akmod-nvidia" or "sudo dnf reinstall kmod-nvidia". Additionally, make sure to update to the latest version of your Nvidia drivers compatible with the upgraded Fedora release.
